Convenient, fast and stable restorations

We are pleased to be able to offer dental restorations with CEREC at Clover Dental. We understand it can be frustrating to have to make multiple trips to the practice to complete your treatment, but this is not needed with CEREC technology.

What is CEREC?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics and is a highly innovative way of creating new dental restorations, including crowns. It allows you to save time, with multiple trips to the practice a thing of the past, and achieves incredible results.

How does CEREC work?

The biggest benefit of CEREC is the ability to have a dental restoration in just one visit.

  • After an initial consultation, the CEREC Primescan scanner captures the area to be treated
  • Your dental restoration is then created as a 3D model on the computer
  • We check you are happy before your restoration is quickly milled from a block directly in the practice
  • Your finished restoration is fitted in your mouth just a short time later

What are the advantages of CEREC?

Time saving: with CEREC you can have incredibly natural looking restorations made by your dentist in a single visit, without the need for a follow up appointment.

Comfortable: we use digital intraoral scanners that capture highly accurate images in seconds and transfer the data straight away. Gone are the days of lengthy and unpleasant dental impressions causing jaw ache!

Efficient: with CEREC, your final restoration is designed, manufactured and placed in your mouth directly, without any temporary solutions or compromises needed.

Long term stability: state-of-the-art CEREC gives quality restorations that are proven to last. Your smile will remain the same for many years!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does a CEREC crown last?

You can expect your CEREC crown to last around the same amount of time as a conventional crown, up to 10-15 years. If it becomes damaged, or suffers from normal wear and tear, we can easily replace it.

  • Are CEREC crowns as good as traditional crowns?

Once fitted in the mouth, CEREC crowns and traditional crowns are very similar. They last around the same amount of time, are beautifully natural looking and are able to effectively withstand pressures from chewing. The main difference is in their creation.

  • How do I look after my CEREC crown?

The best way to look after your new CEREC crown is to treat it just like your natural teeth. Brush and floss twice a day, paying attention to the area where your crown meets your gum to avoid decay from forming. Your dentist will keep an eye on your CEREC crown at your regular examination appointments and be able to spot any potential issues before they become a larger problem.
