Enhance your smile with strong, natural looking veneers

Thin, tooth coloured porcelain veneers are a highly effective and aesthetic way to change the appearance of your smile. They are fitted to the front surface of a natural tooth, and used to mask issues including discolouration, damage, an irregular shape and small gaps.

Why choose porcelain veneers?

Veneers are a fast cosmetic treatment with long lasting results. Unlike tooth straightening or implant treatments, which require several months to achieve results, veneers can transform your smile in just a couple of appointments in our practice.

Modern materials and innovative digital dental technology mean veneers are more precise, durable and natural looking than ever before. We can ensure a single veneer blends seamlessly into your smile, while a full set of porcelain veneers can be created in your dream tooth shade.

What does the treatment involve?

At your initial consultation, we ensure your teeth and gums are healthy and you are suitable for treatment. We take digital scans and images to form your treatment plan and help with the creation of thin, accurate veneers. We can even use our digital technology to show you a preview of your new smile! We also take the time to discuss your treatment in detail, and give you the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have.

When you are completely happy with the way your veneers will look on your teeth, we begin your treatment. If necessary, we prepare your teeth by removing a thin layer of the enamel structure to accommodate the veneers. While your veneers are being custom made, we protect your teeth with temporary restorations.

When your veneers are ready, we try them on your teeth, making sure the fit and look is exactly as you envisioned. Your veneers are then fixed securely into place with strong dental adhesive.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I look after my veneers?

We advise that the best way to look after your veneers is to treat them as natural teeth. Make sure you brush and floss, or use interdental brushes, twice a day. It is important that you visit your dentist for regular check ups, as, alongside ensuring you are maintaining excellent oral health, they will be able to make sure your veneers are remaining problem free.

  • Can porcelain veneers be reversed?

Porcelain veneers are an irreversible treatment, as we need to remove a layer of your natural tooth structure to make way for them. As such, if your veneers break or become damaged due to natural wear and tear, they will need to be replaced.

  • Is it painful to have veneers fitted?

The treatment process for porcelain veneers is minimally invasive and therefore should not be painful. You may experience some discomfort while your teeth are being prepared for treatment, but we can use local anaesthetic to minimise this.

  • Can my veneers break?

While porcelain veneers are very durable, they still do have the potential to break or chip. Remember to treat them with care, and try not to bite into very hard foods or use your teeth to open anything to ensure they last as long as possible.

  • What happens if I break a veneer?

If one of your veneers breaks or chips, please contact your dentist. We will be able to see you as soon as possible and repair or reattach your veneer, or arrange for a new one to be crafted.
